Lay Readers
Lay readers perform and important function during the worship service. Lay Readers in our parish are of two types Lectors (those who read the Old Testament, Psalms, and New testament Lessons) and Chalice Bearers (those who in addition to the duties of Lectors, lead the prayers of the people and assist the Pastor/Priest as he consecrates and distributes the Eucharist). If you are interested in serving in this important ministry please contact Greg Torrance.

Lectors should inform the Chalice Bearer serving with them if they cannot read on their assigned Sunday. It is not necessary for a Lector to get someone to substitute for them, but they may mutually agree to change dates with another Lector if they wish.
A Chalice Bearer must get another Chalice Bearer to serve in their place if they are not able to serve at an assigned service. John Gender and Beth Brine are trained Chalice Bearers and may be called to substitute.
